Une que le convertisseur est top, neutre, etc, mais qu'on a envie de donner une couleur spécifique à la prise, quoi de mieux que de se monter un petit rack en format 500. En effet, une fois le chassis, la base en 3, 6, 8, 10 modules achetée, on peut rajouter une élément quand le budget le permet. Entre 500.- et 1500.- le préampli, on peut choisir entre différentes couleurs. Depuis du Daniel Weiss super neutre à du Great River en gros tube, on retrouve un peu tous les fabricants entre-deux: Grace Design, Focusrite, Radial, Toft Audio, Harrisson, Tonelux, etc...

Speaker Management System

During the mastering process it is essential to monitor the pre-master on different speaker setups in order to ensure constant quality level. The good news is that WaveLab 8 comes with an integrated speaker management system, allowing you to switch between up to eight speaker setups for playback and record monitoring, including individual gain control for each output. In addition, the brand-new VST Audio Connection dialog allows you to set up individual output configurations for the respective loudspeaker channels and to conveniently adjust your input channe

EBU-compliant loudness metering and processing

The loudness war is over and dynamic sound is getting widespread — that's why WaveLab 8 features a full-fledged EBU R128-compliant loudness metering and processing solution. Besides the measurement of momentary, short term and integrated values displayed on dedicated scales, WaveLab also contains a zoomable loudness view that visualizes all values as a clear graph. 

Steinberg's Loudness-, Pan- and Batch-Normalizer tools have been extended meet the requirements of EBU standards. If that wasn't enough, the powerful Global Analysis now also provides EBU-compliant measurement. Of course, WaveLab 8 also features True Peak support, which is reflected in many of WaveLab's tools, e.g. normalizers and various analysis functions.

Voxengo CurveEQ

Thanks to its spectrum matching technology, Voxengo's CurveEQ is perfectly suited to fit the needs of mastering engineers. This versatile 64-band spline EQ with linear and minimum-phase modes also features a built-in professional-grade spectrum analyzer that allows for displaying, saving and loading static spectrum plots for comparison and matching purposes.

Tube Compressor

"Warm and rich" is among the most important characteristics when engineers describe their preferred style of compression. Tube Compressor was made to exactly reflect these demands. Known from the worlds most acclaimed music production system, Cubase 7, Tube Compressor not only shapes the dynamics of your signals very precisely but also colors them nicely.

Brickwall Limiter

WaveLab 8 contains the newly developed Steinberg Brickwall Limiter that keeps the audio signal from passing the threshold — a must-have for professional mastering applications. Parameters such as Drive, Attack and Mix let you individually adjust the character of the processing while the large VU meter provides excellent visual feedback.

 

Single window plug-in management and organization

Keep track of your plug-ins — WaveLab 8 introduces a plug-in chain window that hosts all inserted clip, track or master plug-ins in one single area. Now you can switch between different plug-ins with a single click. Also new in version 8 is the completely redesigned plug-in organization. The newly introduced plug-in settings dialog allows you to group and sort plug-ins by vendor, category and favorites, making it easy to manage your ever growing number of plug-ins.

Professional editing+

Making audio editing faster and more convenient has been the main premise for the creation of WaveLab's new editing tools. One example is the time-saving Raise Selection function that allows you to adjust the level of individual clip regions in an instant. Plus, several new trim and split options have been added to the framework of the new Auto-Split function. What's more, you can now process selected regions of your audio file using e.g. a plug-in chain with just a single command, making comparisons between different editings a straightforward matter. And the new auto-replay option automatically re-triggers the playback right after your edit.

Projet Centre International de Conférence Genève

Construit par la FIPOI, le CICG a été inauguré en 1973. Les 27 espaces qu’il comporte sont destinés à recevoir des conférences de caractère politique, économique et technique, ainsi que des congrès de tous types.

 Une révision du système de sonorisation des deux grandes salles 1 et 2, qui ne donnait pas satisfaction, était prévu pour l’année 2012

 Les principales demandes du cahier des charges étaient:

  • meilleure qualité d’écoute possible pour l’amplification de la parole et de supports musicaux en lien avec des présentations audiovisuelles.
  • chaque salle doit pouvoir fonctionner individuellement, mais aussi les deux salles ensemble en configuration Plénum.
  • le système doit s’intégrer aux installations de traduction existantes
  • le système doit pouvoir s’adapter aux différentes configurations des salles
  • installation fixe sans manutention.
  • le système doit être préréglé pour l’amplification des microphones conférencier, microphones pupitre et les 400 pupitres microphones des deux salles.

 

Lors de nos premiers contacts avec le client nous avons compris que conformément à la tendance actuelle, une solution avec un système linearray était souhaitée.

Lors de la planification et des premières simulations, nous avons compris qu’il n y avait pas de solution satisfaisante avec un système frontale. En effet les microphones des pupitres peuvent se trouver à une distance de 60m par rapport à un système de haut-parleurs frontaux. Il va sans dire qu’il est extrêmement désagréable, voir impossible, de parler avec un décalage de son de jusqu’à 180 ms.

Nous avons alors proposé une solution de diffusion depuis le plafond. Le modèle Kling&Freitag Gravis, avec un rendement élevé, deux modèles de dispersion différents (90x50 et 65x50), d’une esthétique discrète et d’un faible poids, disposait de toutes les caractéristiques pour ce job.

Le nombre de 37 points de diffusion était établi lors de la modélisation du projet.

L’installation provisoire d’un système de test en été 2012 a permis de mesurer et vérifier l’exactitude de nos projections à notre grande satisfaction et à celle du client.

L’installation a pu être terminé  et mise en service à la fin de l’année 2012
